Magnetic Necklaces: Magnet and Our Health

Magnetic Necklaces

Biomagnetism is an interdisciplinary field of research for scientists working in biological, physiological, medical, physical, technical and other associated disciplines. Biomagnetism works in the human body through the circulatory, nervous and endocrine systems. The use of a magnetic field is widely used throughout the United States as a tool for diagnosing forms of illness through the use of the MRI -Magnetic Resonance Imaging Machine.

The latest research indicates magnetism has a significant biological effect on human beings. "Dr. H. L. Bansel points out that magnetism increases the electrical conductivity of the blood. Weak current runs through the blood and the quantities of ions are increased. The newly ionized blood circulating throughout the body can significantly contribute to the efficiency of the blood flow. Blood contains ferrous hemoglobin (iron) that functions as a carrier of oxygen and carbon dioxide. AS the blood circulates in the lungs, fully magnetized ferrous hemoglobin is able to transport more oxygen to cell tissue as well as taking more carbon dioxide waste from the cell back to the lungs for removal. Biomagnetism work to regulate and normalize hormone secretion to the glands."

On the other hand, Dr. Stephen Barrett points out that "magnetic devices have been claimed to relieve pain and to have therapeutic value against a large number of diseases and conditions. The way to evaluate such claims is to ask whether scientific studies have been published. Pulsed electromagnetic fields - which induce measurable electric fields - have been demonstrated effective for treating slow-healing fractures and have shown promise for few other conditions". "There is no scientific basis to conclude that small, static magnets can relieve pain or influence the course of any disease. In fact, many of today's products produce no significant magnetic field at or beneath the skin's surface".
